North Pringle Street, Buckie
In 2007 the Methodist Church in North Pringle Street, Buckie, celebrated the 100th anniversary of its church building. Over 100 years people have used the building as a place of learning, a place of fellowship, a place of fun and a place where the important events of life were marked.
The Buckie Methodist Church life can be described briefly as follows:
- Church services - Sunday mornings (11 a.m.) and evenings at 6 p.m. (alternately here and at Portessie)
- Sunday School
- Bible Studies - 3 per week
- Prayer meetings - 4 per week
- Study groups - (i) Disciple (ii) Way of the Master (iii) Alpha (iv) Youth Alpha
- Women's Guild - weekly
- Men's Prayer Breakfast - monthly
- House Groups
- Bowling and Badminton Club
- Youth Club and Youth Dance and Drama Group
- Outreach to local young people
- United services with other Methodist churches in the Circuit
- Work with other Buckie Churches during Holy Week, Christian Aid Week, the week celebrating the events of the Keswick Convention and the week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
The Buckie Methodist Church's mission is to share the good news of Jesus Christ. It calls people to faith and Christian Discipleship.
As individuals, members of the congregation work with those in need in the community, to help others further afield and to care for each other through the Church's pastoral system. The Church has links with schools through the chaplaincy work of the Lay Pastor.
