Chancellor Road, Portessie, Buckie

Portessie Methodist society was one of the major results of the 1860s revival ministry of James Turner and it became the main base and springboard of the work which followed. By 1864 they were strong enough to call a minister and in 1866 a church was opened. That building was duly outgrown and the present handsome galleried church was completed in 1913.

Current activities include:

  • Sunday worship at 11 a.m. (with Sunday school) and at 6 p.m. (alternately here and at Buckie).

  • There are two meetings for women:- Ladies' Keep-fit (Mondays 7 p.m.) and the Women's Guild (Tuesdays 2 p.m., September to May).

  • The Boys' Brigade Company meets on Wednesdays from 6.30 to 8.00 p.m.
